Note to self:

Next time I go to have emacs auto-indent a 12,000 line FORTRAN77 source code, do it before I leave for the evening. It’s now 3:30, and it’s been chugging with roughly 85% of one of my workstation’s two cores for the past half hour.

Bet you a beer it’s doing it in LISP. A reformatter written in C would take 30 seconds, tops. Hell, one written in Perl would probably take half that long.

I’m pretty damn sure it’s doing it in elisp as well. I eventually kill -9′ed it when I left for the evening around 6:30.
