I made the mistake of rendering the old blog system impotent before pulling down WordPress’ own dump format, thinking “Well, I just have it bop through a MySQL dump.”

WRONG

So, now I’ve got a tab-delimited text file, and I’m hand copying over all the old shite. Oh, and did I mention all the formatting got lost? I might look into hacking together a perl script to get it over and properly timestamped (so posts from 2004-2005 don’t end up “from” 2007).
